Unified Outreach has been actively engaged in youth arts programming for nearly two-decades; and for the past 10 years has provided an eclectic catalog of unique programs from the Ginomai Arts Center in West Seattle’s Alaska Junction neighborhood.
Isis first walked the catwalk six years ago at the pilot work-training program in 2010. 2016 was her first in the role of Instructor. “I really feel like I identify with the kids in the program. And it feels really good to share the things I’ve learned over the years.”
Director of Operations April King-Goode has been active with Unified Outreach for over a decade. April currently oversees all contracts and programming including Work-Preparedness, K-8 Enrichment, Grant Applications & Administration, and more!
Inspired by his mother Alice, who opened one of Seattle’s first north-end food banks from the steps of their own home in 1982, David Toledo is the co-founder of the Unified Outreach program. David began as a solo volunteer teaching free arts classes at local shelters in the mid 1990’s before asking friends to join him and eventually building the team that would later be known as Unified Outreach. David still continues to volunteer with Unified Outreach as time allows, teaching an occasional class or assisting with administrative work as needed.
Darrian started attending classes over 10 years ago, participating in music, dance, and video programs; where she co-hosted the Unified Outreach/SCAN Television program “What’s Good Seattle, the Shop 206”. Today she teaches classes in Fashion/Runway Event Management, as well as summer day camp Cartoon Animation and Video Production programs.
Sammy is a multi-talented instructor and award winning break-dancer. Sammy teaches Hip Hop Dance, summer day camp Cartoon Animation, and Video Production programs.
Devin also started attending classes over 10 years ago, participating in music, dance, and video programs; where he co-hosted the Unified Outreach/SCAN Television program “What’s Good Seattle, the Shop 206”. Today he teaches Hip Hop Dance classes; as well as classes in Fashion/Runway Event Management, and summer day camp Cartoon Animation and Video Production programs.
Kiel has been participating in Unified Outreach classes for as long as she can remember. From traditional drawing and painting, to contemporary dance, cartooning, music, and video. This year was her first as a program instructor for the Cartoon Animation Summer Day Camp.
Edward Dumas is the Executive Director co-founder of the Unified Outreach program and teaches a variety of classes including music, cartoon animation, video production, and work-readiness in the arts.
